      <image:caption>Though it started strictly as a software company, in 2018 Hudl branched into the hardware space with a fleet of smart, auto-tracking cameras created for indoor gyms and outdoor stadiums. With the advent of the Focus camera, coaches no longer needed to rely on recruiting a cameraman to film games or watching shaky footage in review sessions. When I first joined the Hardware Engagement team at Hudl, my new squad was still in the process of hiring a new Product Manager. Without a set development roadmap or a dedicated PM to prioritize business and user needs, it was up to me as a Product Designer to figure out what the Hardware Engagement team needed to work on to provide value to users and increase product engagement.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - Better Billing Data</image:title>
      <image:caption>In its original implementation, Zuora (a billing software built for SaaS companies) was implemented at Hudl to be used as both a billing and access provisioning system. While the approach worked for the time, it eventually needed to be changed in order to help Hudl scale efficiently as a business. Due to its faulty implementation, Hudl’s customer facing self-service sign up workflows were creating invoices in Zuora prematurely, before we had a commitment from the customer and knew that they were going to pay. This prevented Hudl from trusting the accuracy of data directly in Zuora for use in key reporting and operations, specifically revenue recognition automation. In order to increase the accuracy and confidence of our subscription and invoice data in Zuora, we needed to update our sign up workflows so that we were only creating data in our systems on commitment or payment while still providing our customers a good sign up and payment experience. Working within a development squad on our Business Operations Product team, I was tasked with leading discovery work to find out the best solution for this problem.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - Creating a Portable Capture Solution</image:title>
      <image:caption>Though it started out as a software company, in 2018 Hudl broke into the hardware space with the introduction of the Hudl Focus camera. Starting in the gym and then later moving out to the field, both the Indoor and Outdoor Focus cameras utilize multiple lenses and AI-powered ball/player tracking to allow teams to capture every game and practice they want without having to rely on recruiting a cameraman to film games or watching shaky footage in review sessions. After seeing the wide success of both permanently installed cameras, Hudl set out to deliver a portable solution to the smart camera market. Over the course of about a year and a half, I played the key role of a product designer at Hudl’s Hardware Business Unit by conducting user interviews, usability tests, field visits, and iterative UI design in order to bring the device to market. In 2023 we launched the Hudl Focus Flex; an affordable, portable solution to capture moments in games and practices beyond the reach of power and wired internet. Though the device will eventually work for a multitude of sports, on its launch the camera was targeted specifically to the club soccer market.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - Unifying the Policyholder Experience</image:title>
      <image:caption>At biBerk, an online provider of small business insurance, our steadily growing customer base brought with it an increasing need for a more modern and intuitive way for policyholders to manage their coverage. While our online quote workflows made it easy for customers to buy the insurance they needed for their small business without ever having to speak to an agent, the same wasn’t always true once their policy was active. Essential policyholder tasks like making payments, submitting claims, requesting changes to and accessing important documents were all accesible online. However, every task was under its own disparate login, which required users to re-enter their phone number and policy number any time they wanted to complete an action on their policy. These varying experience created friction, confusion, and an uptick in support calls. Bluntly stated: we were falling short of user expectations. While we promised on a fully touchless solution to small business insurance, we weren’t living up to that in all areas of the policyholder experience. To address the growing gap between user expectations and our existing tools, we set out to build My Account: a centralized, single-login hub where customers can easily view and manage all of their policies, download documents, update details, make payments, and submit or track claims — all in one cohesive, touchless online experience.</image:caption>
