Jared Mikuls
Hey, my name is Jared Mikuls and I’m a multi-faceted UX/UI designer based out of Lincoln, Nebraska. I graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 2019 with a double major in Advertising & Public Relations and Graphic Design. A lot of words can be used to describe me: avid skier, ADDY award winner, mosh-pit enthusiast… but you can just remember me as a UX/UI Designer. I most recently worked as a Product Designer at Nebraska-based tech company, Hudl, to help build out a fleet of smart, auto-tracking cameras. My work wass focused on making it as easy as possible for coaches and athletes across the globe to capture and review both game and practice footage, all without the need for a cameraman. Now I’m looking for my next adventure in bringing engaging, intuitive experiences to life.
In both life and design, my approach is to never stop questioning and never stop learning. When presented with a design challenge I’ll always start out by going through an intense and expansive exploration process (as well as lots of sketchbook pages) before arriving at a solution. I thrive on the front lines and value deep usability research and real user input above all else to build intuitive user experiences that solve real problems. I view design not as art for art’s sake, but as a complex puzzle that needs to be evaluated from different perspectives and thoroughly understood in order to come up with the most effective solution for it.
My passion for design runs deep, but it’s not my only love. If I’m not in the office, you can often find me poorly dancing at an indie rock concert or scouring my favorite record store. I’ve listened to more podcasts than I can count, and I’ll never turn down a game of Catan.
